Get Your Stories Straight is a small digital agency started by me… Adrian O’Flynn.
It exists to increase the number of people born in the 1970s, 80s and 90s who give to charity.
While working in the charity sector, it became clear to me that fundraising teams are good at raising money from people born in the 1940s, 50s and 60s.
But younger people have picked up their smartphones, adopted an anti-establishment mindset and are ignoring fundraisers’ instructions to Donate Now.
I’m worried that my generation think crowdfunding can solve the world’s problems. Because, for me, it took a trip to Sierra Leone, as Ebola was spreading, to really understand the need for experienced organisations who can solve huge and complex problems.
The world needs strong charities. And so, it needs a digital fundraising model that acquires donors, at scale, for all types of charities. That’s what we’re working towards.
